Testing RSS Feed

I’m trying to get an RSS feed of my blog on a website. Lets see if this works

GRDE Website

As the weeks progress and the work gets more and more visual, I am starting to get a lot more anxious to see what this new Graphic Design website we are creating is going to look like. I’m excited to see the finished result and the technologies that we are going to incorporate into this website. I know this website is going to be very useful to prospective students mainly along with many other groups of people. Looking back on my senior year in high school, it would’ve been really nice to be able to visit a site like we’re making in order to get a better understanding of the program, the people, and the university. I hope that this website helps influence students to come to Ferris State University to study Graphic Design.

Khoi’s Presentation

I watched Khoi Vinh’s presentation he made to the National Design Conference. I believe that Khoi’s presentation was a great example of how print design is different than digital media. He makes a great point about how print media is comparable to a speech where digital media is similar to a conversation. With print media, there is not interaction between the piece and the user. It is one way communication. The user is controlled with what he or she can do with the information on the printed piece. Whereas with digital media, the user is allowed to interact with the piece and navigate in order to work through it to find what they are looking for.  It is more of a two way communication between the designer and the user.
